Twin, Twin Short & Twin XL

A twin bed is the perfect size for most children’s bedrooms. Because a twin bed measures 39 x 79 inches, it provides enough space for a child or young adult to have enough space in their room for not only a bed, but also their toys and other belongings. Also, the bed itself is usually just the right size for a child or young adult to sleep comfortably. A Twin is a standard size offered by most mattress stores. A Twin short is usually found in campers and motorhomes. Twin XL mattresses are perfect for older children and young adults and can be found in many dorm rooms because it is 6 inches longer than the standard Twin, giving taller persons room to sleep or space for a pet to curl up at the foot of the bed.

Full & Full XL

Full mattresses are commonly found in hotel rooms and sleep two smaller persons perfectly. It measures 54 x 74 inches. Some couples may opt for a full-size bed, but we recommend that if you do, you invest in a Full XL instead which gives you an extra 6 inches. However, if you or your partner tend to move a lot in your sleep or need your space to sleep comfortably, a Full or Full XL probably isn’t for you.

Queen, Olympic Queen & California Queen

The next size up from a Full XL is a Queen mattress, measuring at 60 x 80 inches. A Queen mattress is the perfect size for two sleepers, giving each enough room to move around while not disturbing the other person. A Queen provides single sleepers more than enough room to spread out while also allowing space for pets and a child to sleep with them on a occasion. An Olympic Queen is 6 inches wider allowing for more space for those who move a lot in their sleep. A California Queen is the same width as a Queen but 4 inches wider, making it a great option for couples hesitant to upgrade to a King.

King & California King

A King bed, measuring at 76 x 80 inches, is for couples looking for the greatest amount of space to allow for maximum movement and positioning that won’t disturb their partner. Essentially, a King is two Twin XL beds. For single sleepers, the King provides the optimal space for sleeping in any position and for those times when a pet, child, or other person joins them. A California King bed is less wide than a standard King, measuring at 72 inches, but 4 inches longer. It provides excellent space for couples who need space, but also extra length.
